FileMaker & Tableau | Building Dashboards with Interactivity

If you’ve been working with FileMaker, then I don’t have to sell you on the fact that it’s a great solution to help you manage your data. Whether you’re an in-house developer, a consultant, or just starting to explore what is possible with this powerful platform, you will at some point come across the need to build in some kind of dashboard. Maybe your group needs to see sales trends for the last year or perhaps you have a system that tracks projects and want to see the daily average of tasks completed. In either case, dashboards are a great way to synthesize large amounts of information and provide you with insight in a simple and informative visual design.

What happens at FileMaker DevCon…

The Beezwax Team will be in Las Vegas July 20-23, 2015 for the FileMaker Developers Conference, which is celebrating its 20th Anniversary. While we still hotly debate when best to double down at blackjack, and can only hope an Elvis impersonator will insist we stay off his blue suede shoes, there is one sure bet about DevCon: It’s the place to collect a jackpot of information by attending some of the more than 70 sessions and unsessions covering the latest trends in FileMaker development.

Version 0.71 of bBox Now Available

A new version of our free bBox FileMaker plug-in is now available.

Some of the changes since the last release are:

  • better support for Python results, in particular lists & sets
  • curl, sort, bash, and grep commands now allow up to 7 parameters
  • better handling of invalid parameters to FileRead and PasteboardGet functions
  • added the Python function fm.evaluate
  • more examples in the demo file
