As the 2023 Hackathon Season hits springtime, this weekend brings Los Altos Hacks VII. This event is a 2-day, student-led, in-person hackathon…and the largest high school hackathon on the West Coast.
We’re proud to sponsor and provide mentors, and especially, we can’t wait to see what these talented developers can build!
Los Altos Hacks VII
Now in its 7th year, Los Altos Hacks VII takes place Saturday & Sunday, April 8th & 9th, 2023 at Juniper Aspiration Dome in Sunnyvale, California. The event is supported by sponsors (including Beezwax), and is free for attendees.
Teams of up to four high school students can work together, building projects, and competing for prizes. But competitive projects and experience with coding are both optional — at the event there will be workshops for learning, as well as mentors for guidance. The goal is to give students the opportunity to learn and apply new skills through hackathon projects.
“Our hackathons have consistently been the largest high school hackathon on the West Coast, and for several of our events, one of the largest high school hackathons globally. This year, we are aiming to have 350 attendees, with an emphasis placed on including minority groups in STEM.
Since we were founded, we have made it our goal to maintain a 1:1 gender ratio and ensure that students, regardless of their background, can have the opportunity to attend our hackathon and become inspired to pursue a career in STEM.”
